An ideas-driven practice, Austin McFarland Architects combines strategic thinking, innovative design and practical outcomes to create architecture that responds to place, client aspirations and community needs. The practice seeks clear and elegant solutions to complex challenges, grounded in collaboration and a deep understanding of context.  The practice is recognised for delivering thoughtful educational, community, commercial and residential projects throughout regional New South Wales.

With decades of experience in regional architecture, Russell and Carolyn have led a diverse range of projects including schools, community facilities, healthcare buildings, tourism developments, commercial premises and bespoke homes. Their work is shaped by a strong connection to place, environmental responsibility and a practical understanding of construction and project delivery.

As Fellows of the Australian Institute of Architects (FRAIA) and members of the Regional Architecture Association (RAA), Russell and Carolyn continue to provide design leadership and advocate for regional architecture that enriches communities, enhances human experience and creates enduring value for future generations.
